What a fantastic result for Rochdale at this year’s Britain in Bloom awards! 🌼🏆
These awards recognise far more than beautiful flowers and well-kept gardens. They celebrate the people who care about where they live and work, and the difference we can make when we come together.
Across our borough, volunteers, community groups, businesses, schools and local organisations help transform shared spaces into places people can enjoy and feel proud of. From planting and tending gardens to improving overlooked corners, each contribution helps make our neighbourhoods greener and more welcoming.
Along the way, friendships grow too. People meet neighbours they might never otherwise have spoken to, share skills, exchange ideas and work towards something together. Bloom gives people of different ages and backgrounds a reason to get involved, learn from one another and build stronger connections within their communities.
Behind every award are hours of effort—planning, planting, watering, weeding and turning up, often in all weathers. There are also people encouraging others, finding resources and quietly keeping things going. That commitment deserves recognition.
Congratulations to everyone whose efforts have been celebrated, and thank you to everyone who plays a part, whether your contribution is large or small. These achievements belong to the communities behind them.
We’re gathering the full results and look forward to sharing more about the awards and the people who helped make them possible. For now, let’s celebrate what we can achieve together. 💚👏
