Taylor Park is located in Rochdale and managed by volunteers known as The Friends of Taylor Park. Twelve months ago, it was noted that several trees in the park were ash trees affected by ash dieback disease. Rochdale Council included the removal of these trees in its program, as the area is frequently used by residents, and there was a potential risk of the trees falling onto nearby houses.

In October, one of the identified ash trees fell, narrowly missing walkers in the area. Due to safety concerns, the affected trees have been removed.

The Friends of Taylor Park are now working on plans to replace the trees that have been removed. Additionally, all wood chippings from the felled trees will be utilised by a local scout group to tidy up an area in the lower part of the park
