Councillor – Billy Sheerin was delighted to be joined by pupils and staff from Castleton Primary School, St John Thornham School, Zen Internet, and Rochdale Council’s Environmental Team to get their hands dirty and bring a bit more colour to the community at Castleton Train Station.

Together, they filled planters with a wonderful array of flowers, adding a fresh burst of life to their surroundings.

In 2024, Rochdale had 64 individual entries in a range of categories, reflecting the hard work and creativity of the community. As we look forward to 2025, this is a great start to making sure Rochdale continues to bloom and flourish.

Billy said: “We had a great day, and a very big thank you to everyone who made it possible.

The children were amazing, Jason and Sam from our Environmental Team were brilliant, and the group from Zen were terrific.

All our teachers and school helpers were very special, and a big thank you goes to all of them.”
