The Friends of Taylor Park in Norden work in partnership with Environmental Management at Rochdale Council to care for and maintain this valued local green space. Located between Bagslate Moor Road and Taylor Avenue, Taylor Park is one of Norden’s oldest parks and holds an important place in the area’s social history, having once been a popular setting for picnics and family celebrations.

Today, the dedicated Friends group, led by local resident Clive Entwistle, is committed to restoring the park to its former glory through regular, year-round maintenance and a great deal of care and pride. Their efforts are supported by local residents and community volunteers, who come together on the first Sunday of every month to take part in practical work sessions, contributing time, tools, and enthusiasm to the ongoing improvement of the park.

Over the years, Taylor Park has also benefited from targeted investment through local councillors and ward funding, enabling improvements such as upgraded pathways and the installation of bins and benches. Together, these combined efforts are helping to ensure that the park remains a welcoming, well-maintained space for local people and families to enjoy, now and into the future.
